Thank You Donors! We officially drilled our first borehole on June 11th, 2023 thanks to you and the numerous other donors to our spring 2023 campaign! We would like to share with you all the amazing things we accomplished while in Zimbabwe this summer. It was at Chivakanenyama Primary School where we were able to drill our first borehole. With the aid of local engineers from Workskill Water, we drilled a total of 55 meters down. This well will provide water for more than 800 students . As more students are drawn to this school due to its access to both sustainable water and quality education, the number of students using the borehole will increase. In addition to our achievement in building a well, The Tererai Trent International Foundation kept its promise to drill a borehole in a neighboring community. We have been able to provide efficient water sources to two communities in Zimbabwe! We exceeded our $15,000 goal for the Chivakanenyama school by constructing a 2.5-acre fenced-in garden to support their initiative to feed students. With access to the borehole's water and a dedicated garden space, the school can now start its feeding program, which the leadership team anticipates will feed 100% of the student population by next year. Having said that, this is merely the start of our journey to carry out our mission. We have already taken action to continue providing Zimbabwe with sustainable resources. We eagerly await your continued support to our fall campaign. We are hoping to raise $30,000 by summer of 2024 to drill two more water sources for school in the Hurungwe Region.
