As a part of our next steps we are introducing a new logo, and after much consideration we have found something we feel is more representative of our mission.
Zimbabwe Trip Success!
First and foremost we were able to drill a borehole at Chivakanenyama Primary School hitting water approximately 45 meters below the surface, in addition we drilled another 10 meters to up the yield of the well. We used Workskill Water Engineers from Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe to drill the borehole. This well will serve over 850 students at Chivakanenyama Primary School. It also produces potential for the school to grow larger in return educating more children, providing a more sustainable future for Chivakanenyama. In addition to our success in drilling a borehole our partnership with The Tererai Trent Foundation honored their promise of drilling a borehole in the surrounding community of the school to allow the community a source of water without having to compete with the school for a sustainable source of water.
We were also able to use part of the $15,000 to build a fence in 1 hectare of land for the school's garden which will allow for a sustainable sense of food for the school. The fence we were able to construct surrounded an area of land approximately 2.5 acres in size. Previously the school did not have a sustainable way to produce food and certainly not one protected by a fence. This was huge for the school and compliments the well!

Sonrisa Bebo (Director of Events)
My name is Sonrisa Bebo and I am starting my third year at OSU! I am majoring in French with a minor in Global Studies, Pre-Law and I am from Fort Gibson, OK. I am the new Director of Event Management! My job entails planning and executing different events to raise money! I joined Wishes for Water because I knew that whatever Lily had created was something to be apart of, and I wanted to get more connected with people in PLC. I am also very passionate about the UN’s Global Sustainability Goals, and our mission aligns perfectly with three of them- education for all, accessible clean water, and gender equality.
Jacob Smith (Director of Events)
Howdy ya’ll, my name is Jacob Smith, and I am currently a sophomore studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Nuclear Engineering at Oklahoma State University. I have a passion for renewable energy and love going to the gym and cooking healthy meals! I find leadership and working around those who aim to benefit the world to be the most fulfilling part of my life, so joining Wishes for Water was an easy decision for me to make. We are a gifted, creative, passionate, and hungry group of young minds who I am proud to represent as one of the Directors of Event Management! I will be involved in planning and executing events that bring in donators and support for our cause, so I am excited to get to work this year!
Kennedy Pearson (Director of Marketing)
My name is Kennedy Pearson I am a sophomore from St. Louis Missouri. I’m majoring in International Business and minoring in Spanish and Sports Management. Identifying and evaluating trends to fit our marketing strategies into is part of my job as a director of marketing. Additionally, it involves producing captivating and informational content to engage with others through media. I joined Wishes For Water because I was inspired by Lily and her vision to create a better life for those in Zimbabwe. I'm great full to be a part of this journey to improve the quality of life of those in Zimbabwe through providing clean and sustainable water.
